More Than a Pink Cadillac
Few companies can speak of a rich heritage like Mary Kay Inc. The drive and business acumen of our dynamic founder Mary Kay Ash, combined with her desire to help women achieve personal growth and financial success, led to the development of a company that has grown into one of the most recognized beauty brands in the world.
In 2013, Mary Kay celebrated its 50th anniversary (35 years in Canada) with 3 million Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants around the world. Today, the company exceeds $4 billion in global annual sales and 3.5 million Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. More than 39,000 women across the world are Independent Sales Directors. More than 600 women worldwide have become Independent National Sales Directors, the highest status within the independent sales force.
Lynda Rose is the General Manager for Mary Kay Cosmetics and is responsible for the entire Canadian organization. Prior to her 17 years with Mary Kay, Lynda began her career as a makeup artist but gradually worked her way into sales—first as an account executive for Lancôme, then as a national sales director at Quadrant Cosmetics, where she launched notable brands such as Giorgio Beverly Hills, Liz Claiborne, and Hugo Boss.
She also serves on several boards, including the Direct Sellers Association and the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association. Recently she was appointed by Dr. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, to serve on Canada’s Advisory Council for Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders, which seeks to help female entrepreneurs succeed in starting and growing their businesses.
